A New Territory
Well, we're all moved into the new house. Quite nice it is too. The move itself didn't go that smoothly. I had the indignity of being shipped off to the doctor's for the day, supposedly so they could do some dental work on my few remaining teeth (they're nice doctors but I would much rather have had the excitement of silly humans getting all excited -- I wasn't impressed by not being allowed anything to eat for far too long before hand either). In the end they didn't do any work as their pre-op checks threw up a surprise. Apparently I have a heart murmur. Now that's a bit worrying. Personally I think that they probably got confused with my famous constant purrring, especially as further tests couldn't work out why I might have one, but I'm taking it easy just in case ;-) Anyway, because of van trouble I ended up spending the night and a lot of the next day there before I made it to my new house.
My new territory is a bit smaller than my last one, but I have a nice enough back garden (though Ian just cut my lovely long grass...) The guy who thinks he owns the place lives next door (with a dog of all things!). We've been playing a bit of cat chess on and off, but haven't had a really big confrontation yet. I'm told he's moving soon anyway so I'll have the run of the place then, no point making too much fuss.
There are plenty of places to sleep here. Any thought the windowsills may have been too narrow proved unfounded, though I am struggling to get to grips with these silly blind things in the living room. The floors are mostly wooden too, which means I make a funny little tap tap sound as I walk around. The bed's still comfortable though, and Ian and Rachel are around for tickling duty, so I'm happy enough.
Anyway, that's enough effort for now. I'm off to lie down somewhere quiet, away from those big trains (don't go near those scary things). Bye-d-bye.
